Facebook has its uses. We’re using it to check out the progress on two new establishments set to open soon on Capitol Hill in the very hot Pike/Pine corridor. Rock Box is the intriguing new venue going into the southeastern corner of the old DMX Building, at Nagle Place and Pine behind the Blix art store and facing Cal Anderson Park. They are:
Rock Box is a Japanese style karaoke bar. Reserve a private room with friends to eat, drink and sing.
They are shooting for a late-November opening, though judging by the work accomplished so far, I’m guessing it could be more like December…regardless, it’s an intriguing new entertainment option in the HomoHood.
Also coming soon, is Grim at 1512 11th Ave, the former location of the Grey Gallery which lost its home after issues between the tenant and the landlord. (What’s with all the depressing “G” names for that spot? If Grim doesn’t make it, will it be followed by “Gag” or “Gore” or “Grotty”?) Grim is promising us:
Grim is coming soon…..

Website: www.grimseattle.com (coming soon)
And, it looks like they are shooting to open Dec 11th ish and the bar part of the venue is being tagged as “The Butterfly Lounge”. Judging by the pictures, they are doing a major renovation of the space…looks promising! While we miss “Grey”, we have high hopes for “Grim”.
We’ll keep you posted on both!
