Mmmmmm. I loves me some “Hair”. The iconic “tribal rock” musical with the beautiful score that includes “Aquarius”, “Manchester England”, “Sodomy”, and “Good Morning Starshine” is coming to the Paramount November 28 to December 4 fresh from its recent hit revival on Broadway. The 5th Avenue did a fine production of this a few years back, with a young Cheyenne Jackson, but it’s nice to see a shiny, sexy, new production come to town. (Also, despite the fact it didn’t do well back in the day, the Milos Forman film version is brilliant; you should check that out, too, to prime yourself for the Paramount show.) Here’s some more skinny on “Hair”:
STG presents HAIR at The Paramount Theatre in Seattle on Sunday, November 28 – Saturday, December 4, 2010.
The Public Theater’s new Tony-winning production of HAIR is the most electric celebration on Broadway! This exuberant musical about a group of young Americans searching for peace and love in a turbulent time has struck a resonant chord with audiences young and old. HAIR features an extraordinary cast and dozens of unforgettable songs, including “Aquarius,” “Let the Sun Shine In,” “Good Morning, Starshine” and “Easy To Be Hard.” Its relevance is UNDENIABLE. Its energy is UNBRIDLED. Its truth is UNWAVERING. It’s HAIR, and IT’S TIME.
Student/Senior Rush: One $25.00 ticket per I.D. one hour prior to curtain. Best available open seats. Cash only. Not valid Saturday evening. (Seniors must be 62 or over.)
While many find this show suitable for young adults (13 and older), parental discretion is advised. There is a dimly lit 20-second scene with nudity that is non-sexual in nature.
TWENTY SECONDS of dimly lit nudity! No wonder the Establishment freaked out! Shocking!
