Stuff to Do, Sunday, November 7: “You’ll Never Walk Alone” an all ages event and fundraiser for Youth Suicide Prevention at Neighbours.

November 6, 2010• bySeattle Gay Scene

Mr Neighbours, Julian writes an open letter to the community to support the effort to end Gay Youth Suicides with an all ages event at Neighbours, Sunday evening. Check it out.

You’ll Never Walk Alone
ALL AGES EVENT! (18+ is very much welcomed)
Date: November 7, 2010
Time: Doors at 6 p.m. Show 7-10 p.m.
Venue: Neighbours Nightclub
Price: Open Donation

As Mr. Neighbours 2011, I’m producing my first event and fundraiser alongside Gaysha Starr and Shaun Knittel, Associate Editor Seattle Gay News. You’ve no doubt heard about the tragedies that have recently stuck our community when 6 LGBT identified students, ages 13 – 18, committed suicide rather than face bullying and harassment at school. As an open Gay student, community activist, and titleholder – I’ve decided it was time to do something and I would like your help.

The event is a fundraiser for Youth Suicide Prevention Program (YSPP), a local organization that works towards eliminating suicide and have a program specifically for the LGBTQ teen community. The work they do is very important and they need our help to raise money so they can continue with the important work of saving the lives of the youth in Washington State.

This is going to be an all ages event, which means that there is going to be a mass crowd consisting of youth and 21+ at the event. There will be areas available to drink. One of the biggest themes of the night is a sense of representation, a showcasing of our community to the youth to see in full. Expect high energy performances from some of the most talented performers of WA and with C89.5 DJ Keano spinning.

Lots of Love,
Julian
