May your Lamps never run out of oil!
And, don’t forget the Hanukkah celebration at Lobby Bar tonight, at 7pm tonight put on by Kolenu, Seattle’s Jewish LGBTQ group. Here’s what you need to know about the event:
Celebrate the miracle of Hanukkah as we honor five community leaders who have been influential in our local fight for equality:
1. Rachael Brister, Executive Director of Three Dollar Bill Cinema
2. Fred Swanson, Executive Director of Gay City Health Project
3. Anne Levinson, Former Chair of the Referendum 71 Campaign, co-owner of the Seattle Storm team and one of the state’s first openly gay public officials.
4. Connie Burk, Executive Director of the Northwest Network for Bi, Trans, Lesbian and Gay Survivors of Abuse.
5. Josee Perez, GSBA Scholar and GLBT Ally Activist.Enjoy latkes, dreidels, music and a beautiful candle lighting symbolizing both the miracle of Hanukkah and the idea that great leadership and community action will prevail against oppression.
FREE and open to the community. Allies, friends and family welcome. Due to the location, this is a 21+ event.
This event is made possible through the generous support of Jewish Family Service and Bashert; the LGBTQ Initiative of the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle. Thank you also to our Community Partners: The Lobby Bar, Congregation Tikvah Chadashah and Three Dollar Bill Cinema.
