Light the Night: A GLBTQ Hanukkah is this Sunday, December 05, 2010 from 7pm-9pm at The Lobby Bar (916 East Pike Street)
5th Night of Hanukkah, 5 Inspiring Leaders. Don’t miss out on our 2nd Annual Light the Night: A GLBTQ Hanukkah Community Gathering! Celebrate the miracle of Hanukkah as we honor five community leaders who have been influential in our local fight for equality:
*Rachael Brister, Executive Director of Three Dollar Bill Cinema
*Fred Swanson, Executive Director of Gay City Health Project
*Anne Levinson, Former Chair of the Referendum 71 Campaign, and one of the state’s first openly gay public officials.
*Connie Burk, Executive Director of the Northwest Network for Bi, Trans, Lesbian and Gay Survivors of Abuse.
*Josee Perez, GSBA Scholar and GLBT Ally Activist.
Enjoy latkes, dreidels, music and a beautiful candle lighting symbolizing both the miracle of Hanukkah and the idea that great leadership and community action will prevail against oppression.
This event is FREE and open to the entire community. This event is hosted by Kolenu and made possible through the generous support of The Lobby Bar, Jewish Family Service (JFS), and Bashert; the LGBTQ Initiative of the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle.
