Just found out about this. For World AIDS Day last Wednesday, December 1, the New York Stock Exchange invited some prominent AIDS awareness spokespeople to ring the opening bell to start the day’s business. On hand were the iconic Liza Minnelli, designer and amfAR (The American Foundation for AIDS Research) chairman Kenneth Cole, actor/singer Cheyenne Jackson and our favorite, “he wuz robbed!” Project Runway runner up, Mondo Guerra. Ms Minnelli and Mr Jackson are ambassadors for amfAR and Mr Guerra poignantly came out as an HIV positive man on Project Runway this last season.
Mondo also partnered with “Runway” sponsor PiperLime for a special, limited edition World AIDS Day t-shirt. The shirts were awesome, but they did a very tiny run of them and they are sadly sold out, but you can still make donations to amfAR to support their good works. Hopefully, we’ll hear more soon about what the wonderful Mondo has in store for us for the future. We’re praying that someone gives this talented guy a deal for his own line of clothes for women AND men. Dude has fashion chops and I’d wear his stuff…well, I’d wear the t-shirts. I look awful in polka dots and leggings…
