Who doesn’t love The Golden Globes? It’s Hollywood’s funnest award event…drunken celebrities are given awards by foreign journalists in the Hollywood Hilton ballroom…it’s a yearly tradition that’s more fun than a barrel of Percocets. Hollywood’s yearly ode to self-congratulation and public displays of non-sobriety is going down this Sunday, January 16 LIVE on NBC starting at 5pm with hosting duties provided by the take no prisoners Ricky Gervaise, (he was AWESOME last year as host; dude doesn’t care how many bridges he burns…) We plan to cover both the awards and the fashion aspects of the night. In other movie awards news, Three Dollar Bill Cinema and Gay City announced today the location for this year’s big Oscar Watching Party co-presented by both groups. I hinted at it earlier this week, but now we can safely report that the par-TAY is going down at….the awesome Cinerama! Yep, enjoy great company, canapes and cocktails AND watch the Oscars on the biggest screen in town…which was recently refurbished and looking great. Tickets are not on sale yet, but we’ll keep you posted. The Oscars, and this party, are Sunday, February 27. They’ll be DOZENS of Oscar parties in town; we’ll be talking about them in the weeks ahead. Also note that the Oscar nominations are announced in 12 days; Tuesday, January 25. We’ll yak about those, too, when the time comes.
