Burlesque is BIG in the Emerald City and The Triple Door is undoubtedly one of the fiercest champions for the rebirth of the entertainment art form. If you love seeing purdy girls wearing lavish costumes that end up in a pretty heap on the stage floor by the end of the numbers, then check out Burlesque to Broadway running two nights only, Thursday, February 24 and Friday, February 25 with 7pm shows both nights, and an additional 10pm show on Friday. This show is not a local production, but direct from New York with a cast starring New Burlesque performers, Quinn Lemley, Stacey Harris and Natalie Loftin Bell and directed by Tony Award winning director Joe Hardy and featuring a 10 piece big band orchestra. Avoid this show at all costs, unless you want to feel like you’re on a cruise ship. This is Burlesque light. Palatable to seniors and church goers, but pretty much a joke to any true Seattle burlesque fan. Performances are mediocre at best and timing is as if they are simply going through the motions; these gals really seem like they are thinking “OK, here we go again, I’m SO tired of this performance.”
