Take a gander at the calendar to your right…THREE shows going on this weekend are MEAT related! What’s up with that? Is “Meat” a euphemism for something, or what?!?!? Disgusting.
First up, we have Meat Packing Plant at The Seattle Eagle on Friday, February 4. It’s a “70’s Cruising Night” theme with DJ Up-Above and we’re guessing that they want you to behave like a 1970’s era Castro Clone slut…only, don’t forget to pack your Trojans. We have no problems with sluttiness as long as you are a SAFE slut. STD rates are on the rise, gentlemen, so stick those rubbers in your tight ass Wranglers next to your color coordinated hankie and 8 Track cartridge of Bachman Turner Overdrive. The cover is only $3 and the trampiness starts at 9pm.
On Saturday night, February 5 you have a couple of options. First up: the monthly party known as M*E*A*T* at Pony with guests Amateur Youth and Dee Jay Jack. They promise a night of dance music NOT devoted to Top 40 hits (Gaga fans, go elsewhere) but instead you can boogie to goth/retro/disco/new wave etc. But, the invite doesn’t say a word about what kind of “meat” will be on offer…I’m guessing it will be youngish, hippish, hairyish and clad in some sort of plaid button up/hooded sweat shirt combo.
Finally, there’s always the smell of fried pork in the air at Re-bar on the first Saturday of the month in the vicinity of Re-bar as Ms Sylvia O’Stayformore and company present the monthly variety/cabaret/party known as Bacon Strip. And, yes, they do actually have bacon on hand for your cholesterol clogging pleasure. Naturally, being February, they have a Valentine’s Day theme, but Sylvia being Sylvia, they’ve twisted it a little…it’s GOTH Valentine’s and the show is called “My Bloody Valentine”, not to be confused with another similarly themed event later in the month. This month’s line-up includes:
