It’s that time of the year, when area womyn and dykes get that gleam in their eye about participating in the annual Dyke March and Rally held on the Saturday evening of Pride Weekend. The popular rally offers the women of Seattle an opportunity to express their solidarity for their community and their common goals…also, a chance to be fierce, proud and united. The Rally and March are scheduled for next Saturday, June 25 starting with the Rally at 5pm at the Plaza at Seattle Central Community College at Pine & Broadway, (in front of Broadway Performance Hall) followed by a march through the streets of Capitol Hill at 7pm. Radical dyke activist and writer Lamar Van Dyke is emceeing the Rally with the speakers and participants scheduled to include:

Laura Robinson & Everything But Marriage
7 Star Women’s Kung Fu
Northwest Network
Rep Laurie Jinkins
Rainbow Families
Amber Darland
Out for Sustainability
Trikone NW
Orion Center
Seattle Queer Tango
QLaw Foundation GLBT Legal Clinic
Fabiola Romero
Sistah Sinema
Mac Morrison
Rogue Pinay
keynote speaker Gina Petry

And, in an effort to raise funds for the volunteer event, Tommy Gun is hosting a benefit for the Rally/March TONIGHT, Friday, June 17 at 8pm with “DJ Derek Pavone spinning tunes, great drink specials, wonderful raffle prizes and live entertainment.” And, 100% of the $10 cover charge goes toward the Dyke March event. All are welcome to attend. Well worth checking out and helping a great event.
