Nooner: Thomas Jane finally gets to the root of the matter.

October 27, 2011• bySeattle Gay Scene

Daddy love...Thomas Jane in HBO's "Hung".

Like most horny gay men we were initially excited to hear about the HBO series, “Hung” when it was first announced a few years back. It’s about a high school teacher played by Thomas Jane, whose life goes to hell in more ways than one, and he ends up working as a male escort (for ladies only) largely due to the fact that he’s, well, HUNG. Sadly, at least for us, the show is a bit of a yawn…it’s not up to the standards of The Sopranos or even Carnivale despite its provocative name and plot device.

To make matters worse, so far on the series we’ve never had a chance to see the title character of the show. Well, that changed this week, at least in part, in a scene involving Mr. Jane and a lady client he was servicing with a cheerleader/quaterback fantasy. The camera pulls far enough back to check out at least part of the star of the show. (In other words, we get to the root of the matter but we never see the tip of the iceberg…)

It’s impressive but it also raises the question: is it real? CGI? Or did they go the prosthetic route ala Mark Wahlberg’s mighty member in “Boogie Nights”?

Inquiring minds will be hounding the ex-Mrs. Thomas Jane, actress Patricia Arquette for answers. Or, seek out any sugar daddies from 20+ years ago who cruised Santa Monica Boulevard in L.A. looking for youngsters to “mentor”. Mr. Jane recently revealed he doesn’t have any issues with same sex love as he wasn’t averse to peddling his wares for pocket money back when he was a starving, young actor looking for a break. His candor is refreshing…more than one male superstar of today has had to go that route to make ends meet…well, that or do the casting couch tango.

You gotta do what you gotta do, in La La Land.

NSFW photo after the jump.

How low does it go?
