We are hoping and praying that all of our many, many newly married gay and lesbian friends who got married Sunday don’t want/expect presents in celebration of their legal nuptials…frankly, I don’t think we can afford to buy that many toasters at Williams Sonoma. And, since many of them have been coupled for years, if not decades, we’re guessing they all have a full range of countertop kitchen appliances. But, we’re very, very pleased and delighted to offer hearty congratulations to every single same sex couple who FINALLY got to legally tie the knot thanks to the voters who approved Referendum 74 last month giving everyone in Washington State marriage equality.
And, it was a busy day yesterday at City Hall and venues all over the city (and even private homes) as couples gathered to make it official. Ceasar and Kelsey Hart were one of the first couples married, just after midnight early Sunday morning at Neighbours, and dozens more of our friends and readers followed throughout the day, including Brian (Mama Tits) and DJ, Ryan and Jeff, Cori and Keith, Alix and Leif….plus, so many more with a lot more ceremonies in the works.
