Are you a queer smoker over the age of 50 and yearn to quit that disgusting, dangerous and expensive habit? If so, it might be time for you to join Fred Hutch Cancer Care’s S.A.S.S.Y.* study! You can earn some money while participating in the program (S.A.S.S. stands for Seattle Area Smoking and Screening…they added the ‘y’ to be ‘fun’!)
And, to note, this is a STUDY to figure out the best ways to create cessation programs; it’s not an acutal course!
Also note my snarky tone: I’m an ex-smoker who was FORCED to quit smoking at age 50 after having a heart attack! I implore every smoker to kick the habit before you have a heart attack or stroke! (And, kids, just don’t start…yes, it LOOKS sexy but it’s a really dumb habit that costs a lot of money. )
