Arrietty Becomes Third Queer Bar Queen To Head To RuPaul’s Drag Race

Well, they’ve announced the cast for the 117th edition of RuPaul’s Drag Race and yet another Seattle drag performer has made the cut…it’s ARRIETTY THE ALIEN, the drag daughter of Irene The Alien who appeared on Season 15. Both of these divas from “The House of Alien” claim Capitol Hill’s Queer Bar as their home base where they appear as part of the line-up for that venue’s popular MX drag shows on Friday and Saturday nights. Bosco, a Season 14 contestant on RPDR also claims Queer Bar as her place of origin. Naturally, Queer Bar is proud of that fact and issued this press release:

Today, Queer/Bar proudly announces its resident MX cast member, Arrietty the Alien, is cast in Season 17 of RuPaul’s Drag Race a pop culture and historic show for the worldwide Queer community.

RuPaul’s Drag Race has garnered twenty-seven Primetime Emmy Awards, three Producers Guild of America Awards, six MTV Movie & TV Awards, and two GLAAD Media Awards, among others.

“The notoriety of Queer/Bar and our MX show have become prime casting grounds for local Queer talent to make way for the international fame and acclaim of RuPaul’s Drag Race,” said Queer/Bar Owner Joey Burgess who owns Burgess/Hall Nightlife, along with his husband, Murf Hall (additional owned establishments include: Cuff Complex, The Woods, Oddfellows, + Little Oddfellows, and others.) “While these performers’ craftsmanship and artistry alone have landed them on this incredible one-of-a-kind program, Queer/Bar and MX have undoubtedly created an opportunity for them to hone their artistry and MX has become lore and an origin story for many performers who have found massive success within their art.”

Arrietty is still a current cast member of MX, though we’re guessing she might not be around as much after RPDR Season 17 begins its run starting on January 3rd so now would be a good time to check her out before she gets expensive! (Though we’re guessing she’s probably going to host weekly screenings of her season at Queer Bar…) She’s also set to host Queer Bar’s New Year’s Eve on the 31st. For more info and to snatch tickets, head to the Queer Bar website:

TICKETS to MX | TO PURCHASE

MX is every Friday and Saturday at 9 pm.

Queer/Bar is located at 1518 11th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122

Arrietty joins a long line of Seattle talent who have appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race and has some BIG ass cha cha heels to fill. The two biggest Seattle gals (who have since moved away…) Jinkx Monsoon and BenDeLaCreme are currently touring the continent with their annual Xmas holiday show…they’ll be in Seattle right before Christmas. And, in the spring, Jinkx heads back to New York City to open her first major role in a new Broadway musical production, “Pirates! The Penzance Musical” co-starring Ramin Karimloo and David Hyde-Pierce.

There’s also some changes for Season 17…the show moves back to MTV and there’s a new “Rate the Queen” twist for this season. Check out all the changes and the entire cast list over at Variety: https://variety.com/lists/rupauls-drag-race-season-17-cast/

Break a leg, Arrietty!!!
