
The Museum of Pop Culture’s very popular summer camp series for youth ages 7 through 18 are returning for July and August of 2025. This year’s options include camps for making comics, music videos, exploring Sci-Fi, and “discovering the inner performer” through drag! Pretty daring of MoPop to continue these drag camps in our turbulent political climate…good for them!

Drag Camp 1.0: The Art of Drag
July 28–August 1, 2025
Ages 12-18
Calling all current and future kings, queens, and non-binary royalty! Explore self-expression in MOPOP’s drag-tastic summer camp! Led by Seattle performers and artists, you’ll investigate drag history and work together with local artists to create your own personas. You’ll choose your name, explore hair and makeup techniques, and develop your persona’s stage presence. At the end of the week, celebrate your new drag personas with a private showcase!
MOPOP will provide all campers with the basics for fabulosity including cosmetics, wigs, nails, and a costume closet to get creative with. Additional supplies such as single-use makeup or specialty props, wigs, or costumes may need to be purchased separately.
Tuition: $420
MOPOP members receive a $25 discount on camps.

Drag Camp 2.0: The Art of Performance
August 4–8, 2025
Ages 14-18
Take the stage in style! Drag 2.0 campers will work with local artists to amplify existing or new personas and ready them for a full show.
Explorations include custom costume design, developing a stage routine and story arc with dialogue, new forms of dance and movement, and leveling up core skills like hair, nails, and makeup. At the end of the week, campers will celebrate their new drag personas with a private showcase.
