On November 6, 2008 at 10pm the $375 million Snoqualmie Casino holds its grand opening. And I cannot believe all the buzz around the opening of a tribal casino. The casino is designed by Bergman, Walls & Associates, which designed The Mirage, Treasure Island, Paris and several other casinos. The 170,000 square foot casino features 1,700 slot machines but as the SnoValley Star pointed out after a preview of the casino, what is stunning is the interior.
As captivating as the modern no-arm bandits are, it is the interior of the spacious building that captures, and holds, the eye; breathtaking woodwork everywhere, huge open 60-foot ceilings, massive exposed beams, modernistic lighting and exquisite details such as polished granite railings, that almost force out a gasp from an onlooker with their luxury.
It is being called “Sno Vegas” and I must admit when I saw the full-page national ad placed in In Style magazine I was intrigued. Jessica Simpson will be the first entertainer for the casino on Friday November 7. This is her first Seattle-area concert in four years.
The casino will feature five restaurants including the Falls Buffet, which the casino is calling “anything but a traditional buffet” with Brazilian churrasco grill, “authentic” Mongolian grill and Italian pasta kitchen with wood burning oven.
Ice sculptures will be a daily feature and will provide an interactive component by displaying the buffet’s cold food options. A highlight of the impressive dessert station will be the cascading chocolate fountain surrounded by European-style pastries and desserts from the casino’s renowned pastry chef.
Another restaurant is The Kindai Sushi and Noodle Bar which the The SnoValley Star says…
will specialize in “very high-end, very high quality, made-to-order” cuisine.
Another unique amenity at the casino will be LIT, a plush cigar lounge offering the finest selections of premium cigars from its vast, walk-in humidor. LIT will also feature an extensive 70-bottle scotch selection (including some very rare bottlings), as well as other premium, fine spirits.
Located 25 miles east of Seattle at Exit 27 just off I-90 it will be the closest casino to the Seattle – Bellevue area.
