America’s Original HotMess is Friday December 19th, 2008 (and every other 3rd Friday) at the The War Room 722 East Pike St.
The Original HotMess pioneers the “Live Performance/Queer Dance Party” genre here in Seattle. HotMess’s fourth installment since returning to the War Room is featuring a live performance from the UK’s #1 Queer Rapper Q Boy, LONDON along with local DJs L.A. Kendall and Mathematix.
Pop artist, rapper and DJ QBoy has single handily become one of the leading faces emerging from a new wave in queer music. The half-Spanish, half-English artist has managed to reach the top of the ‘Young, Gay & Gifted’ section of The Independent On Sunday’s highly acclaimed ‘Pink List’, he has supported Boy George at the prestigious London venue ‘KoKo’, and recently completed his U.S. run on ‘The HomoRevolution Tour’
Q Boy has been nominated for Performing Artist Of The Year at the first annual G&LA’s (Gay And Lesbian Awards) and has already been featured in such publications as VICE, INSTINCT, ATTITUDE, ID, and BENT. He has been hot to remix the likes of Bjork, Estelle, Salt-N-Pepa and most recently his brilliant production and rap on Kate Nash’s Dickhead [QBoy Remix].
