March is Cabaret Month at Julia’s and these shows typically sell out.
Save all your Sundays in March and listen to the music of Joanne Klein, Victor Janusz, Daryl Spadaccini; Arnaldo!; enjoy the talents of Cheryl Serio, Marcus Wolland, Anneliese Childress, Helene Smart; and San Francisco’s Linda Kosut and Palm Spring’s Larry Lazzaro.
Here is a little about each performer this month:
Anneliese Childress recently finished a 3 month run of “Beauty and the Beast” as the Enchantress for Issaquah’s Village Theatre.
Arnaldo! dragchanteuse is a Seattle icon and 2008 NYC Bistro Award winner and has performed all over the country including Portland, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Puerto Vallarta and NYC just to name a few.
Cheryl Serio has starred in many cabaret shows including Dames, Risque Business and Freak Show – where she played 3 characters- Chicken Girl Jungle Woman and Countess Lucretia Crustacia.
Daryl Spadaccini has performed on NBC, CBS, PBS and worked with several celebrities in a Burbank voice studio.
Helene Smart’s roles have included “Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris,” “Threepenny Opera” and “Annie!“ and performed in her one-woman shows, “Guess Who’s in Town” and “Just a Housewife, Just a Friend.”
Joanne Klein worked in most of the theatres in Seattle, as well as rogue cabarets, jazz venues, lounges in Paris, Costa Rica and NYC. She performed in Disneyland’s Fantasy Land Theatre’s production of “Snow White, an enchanting musical” and taught at Cornish College of the Arts.
Larry Lazzaro has performed at The Kennedy Center, Chicago & Boston’s Symphony Hall, Lincoln Center and with the Carnegie Hall based “Collegiate Chorale.”
Linda Kosut is a 2008 Bistro Award Winner, NY MAC Award Nominee and one of San Francisco’s most beloved jazz/cabaret entertainers.
Marcus Wolland has appeared in the Lounge Lizards I & II, Risqué Bizness, Freakshow, Too Darn Hot! and Miss Angie’s Blues.
Victor Janusz performs “Confessions of A Pianoman” the fourth Saturday of each month at Martin’s Off Madison, “Weekend Piano Brunch w/Vic” at Salty’s On Alki and has performed at 6th Avenue Wine Seller, El Gaucho, Nordstrom, Canlis and many other Northwest venues. Janusz worked with Arnaldo! for the first time last December with their hit sold out Holiday show “Waiting for the Man with the Bag” also at Julia’s On Broadway.
Shows are on each Sunday in March at 7:00pm at Julia’s on Broadway, 300 Broadway E, on Capitol Hill. The cost is just $15 per show or $50 for a 5 show package. There is also a 2 drink minimum at the shows.
