Missed the Premiere of Pop Star On Ice? See it on June 5th

On Sunday, May 24 Pop Star on Ice, a film by David Barba and James Pellerito about figure skater Johnny Weir, World Premiered at SIFF in Seattle. The film screened at Seattle’s Egyptian Theater to hundreds of audience members with Barba and Pellerito in attendance. Jon Heder’s character in Blades of Glory was based on Johnny Weir. Pop Star on Ice screens a second time at SIFF at the Kirkland Performance Center on June 5.

This is a show you don’t want to miss. Don’t believe me? Just watch Adrian Ryan make a fuss about it over on The Stranger here.

More info on the Seattle International Film Festival can be found at www.siff.net. I have put together a list of LGBT films during the festival that you can find here. Also don’t forget about the SIFF Gay-la on Thursday May 28. More about that event is coming soon.

I had a chance to attend the screening at New York’s NewFest film festival last Thursday, and the Q&A Johnny did afterwards was fantastically entertaining. I made some comments and posted the photos I took at http://www.homo-neurotic.com.
