South Pacific in Seattle

January 26, 2010• bySeattle Gay Scene

South Pacific…need I say more? This is the greatest musical of all time. Literally. And it has been revived in a Tony Award winning production for Broadway by the much too-talented-for-Seattle Bart Sher, formerly of Seattle’s Intiman Theatre.

And now it’s on tour and at the 5th Avenue Theatre starting this week. I’m excited, others sound excited, what about you?

And this production boasts some of the greatest musical numbers ever to grace the stage; Bali Ha’i, Some Enchanted Evening, Happy Talk, Younger than Springtime, and I’m in Love with a Wonderful Guy, and these are just some of the tunes.

I will have more about this production soon.

I’m as trite and as gay as a daisy in May,
A cliché comin’ true!
I’m bromidic and bright
As a moon-happy night
Pourin’ light on the dew!

South Pacific starts Friday January 29 and runs through February 21, 2010. More info and tickets are available by going here.
