Oh, did you think I literally meant the Vernal Equinox or beginning of Spring in Seattle. No, I am talking about DJ Brian Gorr’s next dance party event, Equinox, which will fall on the same date: March 20, 2010. Gorr’s last event in December, REWIND Party (best vocal house of 2009), was a huge success and in my opinion the most fun I have had all year long in Seattle. The way he mixes up his music is remarkable and speaks out to all generations, and without needlessly pandering to the kids.
With a steady pace and strong tribal influence, his vocal house and HINRG set included music selections that were carefully fitted together like a puzzle, into one long but very emotionally uplifting night on the dance floor; From Abigail and Filipe Guerra’s revival/remix of Forever Young and right into the latest Diinch remix of I Gotta Feelin’ by Black Eyed Peas.
It’s a shame we only get to see DJ Brian Gorr once every few months since in my opinion he is one of the best dance DJs Seattle has to offer right now. But someone always told me that absence makes the heart grow fonder.
