Gaelic Gays | BottleNeck Lounge |
It’s that time of the year again…when Irish eyes are smiling.
Wednesday March 17, 2010 is St. Partick’s Day!
First, the exciting news is that Linda’s Tavern, the infamously gay friendly Capitol Hill bar but that typically, for some reason, lacks very many gays, is holding their Fifth Annual Gaelic Gay St. Patrick’s Day Party. This is an annual gathering of The Gaelic Gays Fan Club. What a great time to check on this iconic and little hangout for musicians and industry people. The Gay Party starts at 5:30pm with Happy Hour from 7pm-9pm and DJ Joy playing from 7pm. For $5 you get a beer koozie that includes a free beer and benefits queer youth!
Their facebook event page is here.
Over at the BottleNeck Lounge doors open at 4pm for their St. Patrick’s Day for “Smithwick’s Irish Ale on draft — right off the boat from Kilkenny — and plenty of Jameson’s Irish Whiskey.” Guest chef Ashlyn Forshner returns with her signature Guinness-braised corned beef, served piled high on marbled rye accompanied by the requisite cabbage. Their facebook event is here.
For a wonderful alcohol free event, SHIFT Kickin’2 has Square Dancing with Gaylen Sauve from 7pm-9pm at the Polish Hall.
More info is on www.gaycity.org.
There will be parties across Capitol Hill including Madison Pub, which you will find here.
There is a Live Irish Band at Purr Cocktail Lounge starting at 7pm along with drink specials on Jameson and Guinness all night.
The Chapel bar has DJ Tony Burns for a party benefiting their SIN gay softball team with $2 Green Beer and $2 Green Shots all night along with 2 for 1 Well Cocktails from 9pm to Midnight and reverse Happy Hour Midnight to 2am. Their facebook event page is here.
Of course, this is just a developing list. I will be updating as I hear about more events.
