Plugging the Things we love: Trannyshack! at Chop Suey Saturday Night and Serial Mom on Sunday!

May 7, 2010• byMichael Strangeways

The Broads are back in town…San Francisco is forced to do without the iconic Heklina for a weekend as she brings a gaggle of her gal-pals to Seattle, (joined by plenty of her local BFF’s like Ursula Android, Jackie Hell and Sylvia O’Stayformore) for their semi-annual Trannyshack! par-tay at Chop Suey. Expect lots and lots of naughty, nasty, LIVE song and merriment as well as a heaping teaspoon of lewd love and a tablespoon of pure joy. The doors open at 9:30pm, show starts at 11pm and it’s only $10, which does not include any dry cleaning required after attending the show and being splattered by something unspeakable…oh, and check out Heklina on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 9 when she will fore go breakfast to be a special guest host for Three Dollar Bill’s screening of the John Waters classic Serial Mom at Northwest Film Forum. That little delight screens at 2pm and is co-presented by Gay City. There’s also a “Dare to Wear White” fashion show and fabulous prizes. Bring Mummy and check it out.

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
