Seattle Awarded National Gay & Lesbian Country Western Convention for 2013

June 4, 2010• bySeattle Gay Scene

The International Association of Gay/Lesbian Country Western Dance Clubs (IAGLCWDC) awarded the 2013 Country Western Convention to Seattle’s very own Rain Country Dance Association after delegates Jim Drew and Keith Gehrig lead the effort this weekend to secure the Convention. The Convention will be held during Memorial Day Weekend, 2013.
Rain Country is most excited about the achievement:

This means our 2013 Hoedown will see several hundred additional attendees, meaning additional workshops and guest instructors from across the country.

A good starting point for those interested in joining in on the fun of gay country western dancing is at The Cuff every Friday night starting at 7:15pm with instruction and country western dancing until 11pm. In 2010, the Annual Country Western Pride Dance takes place at the Seattle Center on Saturday June 26 from 6pm-9pm in the Center House.

Visit www.raincountry.org for more info.
