Rat City Roller Girls end their season on Saturday at Key Arena

June 4, 2010• byMichael Strangeways

You know you love’em and you know you need to support them…the raucous ladiez of Rat City Roller Girls, close out their season on Saturday, June 5 at 5:30pm at Key Arena. And, if you really care, bring your canned goods, (no pumpkin mix, please!) for their canned food drive to benefit the Ballard Food Bank and the Queen Anne Helpline:

And if you’re feeling generous, show us your cans! That is, bring along a non-perishable food item for our canned food drive. Rat City Rollergirls will be collecting canned food and nonperishable items for the Ballard Food Bank and the Queen Anne Helpline. We will be giving the 1st 150 fans at each bout with a food or nonperishable donation some SWEET Rat City swag. In addition, The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Abbey of St. Joan are selling special roller derby-themed CHAMPIONSHIP BINGO cards, and all of our fans are invited to play for a chance to win awesome prizes. Look for the Sisters’ table on the KeyArena concourse to buy a bingo card, or an autographed Anya Heels poster! All proceeds from bingo and poster sales go to help Lambert House. Then, catch the sisters after the game performing at The Funhouse!

WOW! Action packed roller derby fun AND you get to help out some worthy causes. If you’re all SIFFed out, then head over to Key Arena on Saturday and cheer’em on…

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
