Don’t Forget! Big Benefit for Capitol Hill Alano Club on Sunday, July 25 at Cafe Metropolitain!

July 23, 2010• byMichael Strangeways

Huge roster of local talent will perform to raise funds for the beleagured CHAC who need to raise $15k by the end of the month. Doors open at 7pm and show starts at 8pm. Give generously and save CHAC!

We reported a couple of weeks ago that the Capitol Hill Alano Club was in dire financial straits and desperately need to raise a bunch of money to keep the doors open. Support HAS pored in, and they’re well on their way to raising the $15k needed but to insure the goal is met, a number of area entertainers have joined together to put on a fundraiser to raise the remainder needed. It’s all going down on Sunday, July 25 at Cafe Metropolitain starting at 8pm with a suggested $5 donation at the door (but give MORE, if you can!) and an exciting lineup of acts that include jazz vocalist Ben Black, the Reverend Shae Savoy, Miz Ginger Snap, Cherry Pop Tart, Gaysha Starr, Mark “Mom” Finley, Mr Gay Latino Horacio Cruz and many, many more all presided over by hostess Aleksa Manila. It’s definitely a good cause, so check it out if you can OR just send CHAC a donation!

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
