Everyone’s getting in on the whole vampire/blood/goth thing! Pony debuts new monthly party, BLOODLUST! tonight at 9pm.

July 28, 2010• byMichael Strangeways

Unpack the manliner and your best black leather/pleather jumpsuit…Marcus and the gang from Pony (1221 E Madison on Capitol Hill) are unleashing a new monthly event they like to call BLOODLUST!, “a monthly overdose of goth, new wave, deathdisco and other dark delights!”It’s all going down TONIGHT, Wednesday July 28 starting at 9pm and going ALL NIGHT LONG! (well, until 2am…) Best of all: NO FREAKING COVER! Which means you have more money for MAC cosmetics and more money to spend on booze…it’s a double win situation!

Oh, and the fun continues Friday, the 30th with a live performance by Colin Self, the “electro-chanteur” and Pony’s resident Dee Jay Jack…the fun also starts at 9pm and once again, NO COVER…which is good, because everyone is poor right now in the 15th year of the Great Recession….Oh, and since this is a big old plugfest for Pony, we might as well shove the plug all the way in and remind y’all that Monday, August 2nd, Pony and the Seattle Physique Guild present their monthly event, BEEFCAKE! celebrating the release of “Seattle Male Pictorial” the fun retro monthly male physique ‘zine created by local writers, artists and photographers. They promise us that some of the beefy models will be on hand to strut their stuff and you can also party down with DJ Freddy King of Pants (who’s also deliciously beefy) and Dee Jay Jack (I have no idea about the status of Mr Jack’s level of “beefcakieness” but I’m willing to find out…). Check it all out if you’re brave enough to cross Madison.

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
