Tonight, Saturday August 7th, PONY presents MEAT!, their monthly mutant-disco dance party with special guests Reporter performing live! (Reporter are a fantastic, dark disco-punk trio from PDX, about to release their stunning debut album.)
Also tonight is resident DJs Amateur Youth and Pony’s own Dee Jay Jack. No Cover with DJs at 9pm, Reporter play at 11:30pm.
And tomorrow, Sunday August 8th, Pony presents an extra special edition of the wildly popular World’s Tiniest Teadance. The weekly event began four months ago and became an instant Sunday afternoon institution. Starting at 4pm each Sunday, resident DJs El Toro and Freddy King of Pants bring the absolute best and worst HI-NRG, trashy disco, showtunes, and truly bizarre queer tracks from the vaults. Happy hour specials, patio shenanigans, fog machines and lasers make this an awesome way to end the weekend! Also tomorrow’s Teadance features two live bands: Light Asylum, from Brooklyn and Atole from Portland. Both bands have dramatic, driving no-wave influenced dance-punk sounds that will lend themselves perfectly to the Teadance experience. The teadance begins at 4pm, live bands starting around dusk.
