The “International Imperial Court System” such as the Imperial Court of Seattle (ICS) are individual social and community service organizations bound together in shared structure, policies and goals. The Court System began in San Francisco in 1965, in what was intended mainly for “camp” fun. From that beginning they derived their camp titles Emperor & Empress, Prince & Princess, and so forth, as well as their major annual gala function – Coronation.
The Court System has since gone international with courts throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the U.K.. Each court is in essence, a chapter of the International Organization.
The primary goals are:
to further relationships with businesses and organizations within our local communities
to hold functions and fundraisers to benefit the communities
to help those in the community who are in need of our assistance.
Membership is made up of every aspect of society: lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and even heterosexual. A person’s gender, lifestyle or mode of dress has no bearing on being a member of the court “family.”
