I love Dunshee House…not only are they a valuable community resource, hosting numerous AIDS/HIV support groups and services and providing a meeting location for other community groups, but they also sell Christmas trees every year as part of their yearly fundraising activities. (AND, it’s also VERY close to the Strangeways Compound, so I don’t have to go far for my holiday tree…it’s within dragging distance!) They’ve already started this year’s sales event but it’s still very early in the season and they’ll have a lovely selection for several more weeks; the trees are always nice and fresh! They’re open now until December 23 from 9am to 9pm behind the Dunshee House location, 303 17th Avenue East, the corner of 17th and Thomas Street on Capitol Hill. (Hint: it’s two blocks EAST of the Safeway on 15th).
You NEED a tree (and, not some awful plastic one…UGH!) and it’s for a great cause. I insist you check it out!
