Stuff to Do. Monday, 12/13/10: Movie Mania Monday…Cineoke at Rendezvous; Collide-O-Scope at Re-bar; Leslie Nielsen Tribute at Central!

December 13, 2010• bySeattle Gay Scene

Lots of movie options for this Monday and they’re all a bit odd…odd, but fun!

Three Dollar Bill’s Cineoke series returns tonight at the Jewelbox Theatre at the Rendezvous, 2322 Second Avenue in Belltown. It’s their very special Holiday edition with selections from Pee Wee Herman’s Christmas Special and all your Rankin/Bass cartoon classics from the Seventies. Sing along with all your holiday favorites and fulfill your fantasy of being a real “Snow Miser”! Doors open at 6:30pm/Show at 7pm and it’s only $5 cover.
Meanwhile, over at the Re-bar place, it’s the bi-weekly “Collide-O-Scope” par-TAY and they are ALSO having their holiday edition which they’ve lovingly entitled, “Christmas ’til You Puke!”. They’ve curated a LOVELY bunch of Christmas videos for your amusement, most of them out of this world. AND, it’s also cheap: only $5 and that comes with Popcorn and Redvines!!! We love it!
Finally, at Central Cinema, there’s a very special tribute to a very special actor we recently lost: the late, great Leslie Nielsen! They are having a special screening of his hit film, The Naked Gun tonight at 7pm and it’s only $7.

“I’m Lt. Frank Drebin! Police Squad! And don’t ever let me catch you guys in America!”

There was only one. Leslie Nielsen seemed ageless. Now that he has passed, Central Cinema celebrates one of the most beloved actors of the past SIX decades! And what better way than to celebrate his comic genius. A straight man turned parody guru, Nielsen never met a joke he didn’t love. Perhaps the height of his powers were shown in 1988’s THE NAKED GUN, based on the cult classic series Police Squad. Before the show we have a special tribute to Leslie Nielsen from BadMovieArt’s own Jason Miller.

This is so worthy of our Movie Love!
