The Seattle LGBTQ+ Center’s Got A Fun Party Coming Up On August 10th

July 14, 2023• byMichael Strangeways

August is looming which means it’s time for The Seattle LGBTQ+ Center’s (formerly Gay City) annual summer fundraiser and party. This year’s event is titled Gilded and Blossoming and happening on August 10th from 6pm to 9pm at The Collective at 400 Dexter Avenue North. It’s a great way to support the Center and the work they do for the community as advocates and healthcare providers.

More from the invite from Bekah Telew, the Center’s Co-Executive Director of Community Engagement:

We are delighted to invite you to a remarkable evening of community, celebration, and support at our new summer party, Gilded and Blossoming. You have been a dedicated supporter of our work, and we are thrilled to invite you to be a part of this intimate and enchanting event.

Don’t miss this opportunity to make a lasting impact and support the self-determination, liberation, and joy of Seattle’s LGBTQ+ communities. Join us at Gilded and Blossoming and help us create a future where everyone can thrive and blossom.

Date: August 10th
Time: 6-9 PM
Venue:The Collective
Address:400 Dexter Avenue N, Seattle, WA 98109

The evening promises to be a captivating experience, featuring:

– Live performances by talented local artists Kylie Mooncakes and Sable Jones St. James
– A silent auction offering a wide range of unique and exquisite items
– Delectable food from The Collective
– Creative and playful community building activities

Every dollar raised at Gilded and Blossoming will go directly towards funding essential LGBTQ+ services, including wellness services, youth advocacy, resource referral, and advocacy.

To secure your place at Gilded and Blossoming, please RSVP via gaycity.org/Tickets. Limited tickets are available, so we encourage you to reserve your spot at the earliest opportunity.

Should you be unable to attend, we humbly request your consideration of a small gift. Every contribution, big or small, will make a huge difference in the lives of those we serve.

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
