CC Attle’s Chris Daw just released an update on the progress for the beloved bar to move to its new home on East Olive Way, (the former home of Cafe Metropolitain, pictured to your left.) They had hoped to be up and running before Christmas, but as is often the case, permits and contractors ALWAYS take longer than you had hoped:
Subject: CC’s Status Update
Well it’s been a month since we got the keys to the new space… And it’s been a long month filled with delays and schedule conflicts, but finally all of the minds have met, some issues have been resolved, the demo permit issued and the De-Construction of the space has begun.
During this phase of construction, everything that we dismantle is being sorted for reuse, recycle or disposal. It takes a little longer to complete but it is the right thing to do, it helps control costs and is good forthe environment as well! The architects arel still working on the final plans for submittal to the DPD and Public Health for construction permits to be issued. We had really hoped to re-open before Christmas but unfortunately, that won’t happen. If all goes well from this point we are hoping to open in mid February. I know this is frustrating news but good things come to those who wait and whats coming will be REALLY good! I’m really excited about the design and that it respects the old place in many ways. When you show up you’ll know where you are and should feel right at home!
More Later,
Chris
Thanks Chris for keeping us posted!
More news, as it develops.
