The 5th Avenue Theatre’s Spotlight Night for Shrek the Musical is Sunday April 27 from 3:00 – 4:30 pm. Members of the Broadway creative team, cast and producers will visit Seattle to reveal the behind-the-scenes development of this world premiere musical.
This includes director and Tony Award nominee Jason Moore, Pulitzer Prize winning writer and lyricist David-Lindsay-Abaire and Olivier Award-winning composer Jeanine Tosori. Tesori, along with select cast members, will perform songs from the show.
The DreamWorks production of Shrek the Musical will have an exclusive world premiere engagement at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle from August 14 – September 21, prior to opening in New York at the Broadway Theatre on December 14, 2008.
The musical stars Tony Award-nominee Brian d’Arcy James (Broadway’s Sweet Smell of Success) as Shrek, Sutton Foster (you may remember as Inga in Young Frankenstein) as Fiona, Christopher Sieber (Spamalot) as Lord Farquaad, award-winning performer Chester Gregory II (Broadway’s Cry Baby and Tarzan) as Donkey and Tony Award-nominee John Tartaglia (most recognized from Disney’s Johnny and the Sprites) as Pinocchio.
