The Seattle Commission for Sexual Minorities is putting on an event with the Seattle Police Department, Home Alive, the NW Network, and the King County Prosecutor’s Office this Sunday, April 27th from 9:30 am – 3:00 pm at the Miller Community Center on Capitol Hill.
The event is called “Capitol Hill Responds to Violence.”
This event is in response to the increase in violence and hate crimes experiences over the past month.
Workshops include a self-defense course, a healthy relationships course and a hate crimes 101 training. The event is free (although donations are accepted).
For more information please call the Seattle Office of Civil Right at 206.684.4500 or email: david@sexualminorities.org
Self defense is great, but this wreaks of the Hate Crime Alert posters: “avoid being a victim”. Self defense isn’t the solution. We need some greater and united action.
