Teatro ZinZanni & Pacific Place present: “Aerial Antics in the Atrium” from August 7th-31st every Thursday – Sunday beginning at 6pm. It’s free to the public!
It will feature a German clown Manuela Horn, a Diabolo artist named Trevor Nassler and my personal favorite, trapeze artist Eric Newton who will be performing his act hanging above the Il Fornaio Café in the middle of Pacific Place.
World-class aerialist Eric Newton will be suspended from the top of the 60-foot high daylight-flooded atrium at Pacific Place and perform his gravity-defying solo trapeze act. In 2006 he and Sagiv Ben Binyamin performed to near capacity crowds with their breath-taking duo trapeze, strap and fabric acts. A classically trained actor, Eric studied acrobatics with Chinese master Lu Yi. A veteran of Cirque du Soleil’s Quidam, he is the artistic director of the Los Angeles-based Eye of Newt Circus and the Burning Man-affiliated Cirque Bezerk.
Circus artist Trevor Nassler is multi-disciplined performer and master of the ancient art of diabolo juggling. Evolved from the Chinese yo-yo, diabolo uses two sticks attached by a string to spin two cone-shaped wheels connected by a short axle. The diabolo artist uses his sticks like a magic wand, sending the diabolo to extreme heights at high speeds, conjuring tricks and stunts that utilize the entire body. Trevor Nassler is known for his technical skill as well as his ability to cover a wide area of the stage when performing his high-energy act.
Standing well over six feet and commanding attention as she strides center stage and belts out her trademark yodel, German clown Manuela Horn came to Teatro ZinZanni after several years in the European show “Pomp, Duck & Circumstance.” For the past several years, Manuela has toured Europe in a one-woman show that demonstrated her uncanny comic timing, lovely personality, and big, booming voice.
Check out the show during August next time your in downtown.
