The Seattle Repertory Theatre offered a total of five G.A.L.A. nights during the 2007-2008 season. G.A.L.A. (or Gay and Lesbian Audiences) is a special reception and get together immediately following the performances held on specific nights for the LGBT community and their friends. The most recent G.A.L.A. was for “The Breach” on January 22. About a dozen were in attendance, along with nearly the entire cast of the play, who were there to meet and socialize with G.A.L.A attendees.
The fare on that night included a selection of light snacks such as cheese & crackers, fancy chips, miniature brownies and heart shaped cookies but varies each G.A.L.A. night. I particularly enjoyed the gourmet cheeses and crackers. Complimentary beer, wine and coffee was also served. The host of the reception, Amber, did an amazing job seeing that everyone was taken care of.
If you plan are attending a performance at the The Seattle Repertory Theatre on the night of one the of the scheduled G.A.L.A. events held at the Bagley Wright Theatre be sure to ask for special G.A.L.A. tickets which get you entry into the special lounge following the performance. Call the box office for G.A.L.A. availability at 206-443-2222.
There are two more G.A.L.A.’s remaining for the 2007-2008 season. “The Imaginary Invalid” following the performance on March 4 and “The Cure at Troy” following the performance on April 15. There are five plays remaining in the 2007-2008 season for Seattle Rep. All five plays are $125 or select 3 plays for $75 if you purchase by January 31, 2008.
