Forbidden! ‘For a Look or a Touch’ offers a rare 2nd performance

March 13, 2008• bySeattle Gay Scene

Music of Remembrance presents: “For a Look or a Touch.” Declared an instant “masterpiece” by the Seattle P-I, the Pulitzer Prize-nomination work is based on the true story of teen-aged German lovers Gad Beck and Manfred Lewin, gay lovers tragically separated by the Nazis.

“The title For a Look or a Touch is taken from Paragraph 175, where they explain that the laws against homosexuals were so far-reaching, you could literally be arrested ‘for a look or a touch.’ As part of my talk, I will be showing excerpts from the interview with Gad Beck, who was a teen-ager during the Holocaust.
