Several Events in gay Seattle on this Tuesday March 11, 2008:
1) Hotmess and Neumos present the the satirical rap artist Leslie and the Ly’s at Neumos. Front-woman Leslie Hall has a cult like following around the world. Doors open at 8 pm with DJ LA Kendall and Colby B. with the show later in the night. Performances by Team Gina and others. $12 at the door.
2) Rain Country Dance and Seattle Eagle present “Lowdown Hoedown” Country Music Night from 8 pm to Midnight. This will be music only, no dancing. Featured music will be primarily from the 1960s to the 1980s, with selections from beyond that range. Think George and Tammy, Conway and Loretta, Dolly and Kenny, Willie and Waylon and the Boys, the Hag and Bocephus and the Man in Black. Ridin’ and drivin’, cheatin’ and drinkin’, workin’ and livin’ and lovin’ and breakin’ up music. Enjoy $2 beers and enjoy your favorite country tunes.
3) “A Night of Queer Women Solo Performance!” at Re-bar: 6:30 pm. Enjoy performances by Elizabeth Wright and Carol Maki, Seattle poet turned comedian performs her act My Own Grandiosity. These are no garden-variety grandiose delusions. This is divinely inspired silliness.
The comic will enlighten you with divinely inspired opinions and jokes about sex, sexuality, politics, being a woman in the 21st century, compulsory motherhood, relationships, her summer of losing it all and more.
