Seattle PrideFest 2008 officially released their new website. Seattle PrideFest takes place at the Seattle Center immediately following the downtown Pride Parade on Sunday June 29, 2008.
The Stranger newspaper is the official media sponsor again this year.
The W Hotel is also one of the major sponsors.
First, the group details the success of last year’s PrideFest at the Seattle Center with having very limited time to prepare.
Over 20,000 people attended last year’s Pride Festival, and they celebrated together, enjoyed a beautiful Seattle day, were inspired by the activists, and ultimately helped to raise nearly $10,000 for underfunded community non-profits.
This year the events will include:
PrideFeast on Friday June 27.
Eat Out, Help Out. The newest addition to Pride Weekend! Eat at any number of great restaurants in the city and help raise money for Health & Wellness for the LGBT Community.
Shameless Party on Saturday June 28 with DJ Escape.
The Big Pride Party! With DJ Escape (NYC), aerial performers, dancing all night. Venue TBA soon.
Pride Parade on Sunday June 29.
Out for Change! Join the rest of the community on 4th Avenue for the big downtown parade.
Seattle PrideFest at the Seattle Center on Sunday June 29 which will include a performance by singer Kristine W.
Performers, dancing, beer, activism, entertainment, prizes, and the largest LGBT gathering in the Northwest!
Beer! There will be beer again this year. This year the footprint of the event will be bigger and include the International Fountain; something sadly missing last year but the best part of the Pride Festival in 2006.
PrideFest is looking for more Sponsors and are taking orders for booths and tables for as little as $75. But those tables will go fast.
The big news is they are looking for beneficiaries for some of the money they raise.
We’re looking for a few under-funded local community non-profits to give money to. Interested in having that go to your organization? The Pride Project board will be meeting in April to decide the beneficiaries for this year’s festival, so please send us information on your organization BEFORE APRIL 15 and let us know the following: 1) What you do 2) Why you need money and 3) Why you would be a good match for the Pride Festival.
They have created The Pride Project, soon to be a 501c3, to take over PrideFest from One Degree Events.
Once again Egan Orion of One Degree Events [pictured above] brings his expertise to the table in an effort to put on yet another successful PrideFest at Seattle Center.
