In 1980 a group of gay guys in Seattle got together each week to play softball in the University District. It started just as some pick up players and fun. It wasn’t long before they realized that they were a pretty good team.
Since those meager beginnings on a playfield in the University District, the league has grown to 50 teams, with over 700 players, won a multitude of tournaments (including Gay Softball World Series Championships) and created a community where ALL people are welcome in the spirit of softball and friendship.
On Sunday April 13, the Emerald City Softball League kicks off their 2008 Regular Season.
Here is the schedule of games for Sunday. The games will be played at North Sea Tac Park.
Also, watch for exciting information coming soon about the events happening in August during the Softball World Series.
