Even the City doesn’t want the floats to suck

April 24, 2008• bySeattle Gay Scene

The City of Seattle’s Department of Neighborhoods is offering grant money for organizations to help build their float for the Seattle Pride Parade. Call it “Matching Funds for Outreach” designed to get more people involved/connected with their particular organization.

The Dept of Neighborhoods is giving out grants for Pride Parade floats. There will be a workshop on Tuesday April 29 from 6 to 8:00 PM at Entre Hermanos (1505 Broadway Avenue) on how to apply for these grants.
For more information call Jose Cervantes, 206 684-4574, or go to http//www.seattle.gov/neighborhoods/nmf/smallsparks.htm

Special thanks to Alex Garcia’s blog for alerting us to this.

What does it say about our pride if the city has to step in and convince us to make nice floats?
