Gay Pride Parade isn’t bound for Broadway

May 25, 2008• bySeattle Gay Scene

It’s in the Seattle PI what most who read our blog have already known for a while: No go Pride Parade on Broadway since 1977. The fear is that the gays will not be on Capitol Hill this year after Pride.

Michael Wells, head of Broadway’s business association says the Capitol Hill businesses might suffer…

But he said gays and lesbians would probably go to Capitol Hill after the downtown parade and Seattle Center festival that Sunday.

The gay pride festival (Seattle PrideFest) expects 25,000 people at the Seattle Center after the Parade. This year it will include the International Fountain similar to 2006. The article makes no mention of the 200,000 people that attend the Seattle Pride Parade in downtown.
