Man stabbed outside Neighbours Nightclub

May 21, 2008• bySeattle Gay Scene

From the Seattle PI:

A man called police about 9:30 p.m. after seeing the victim, in his 30s, bleeding on a sidewalk in the 1500 block of Harvard Avenue, department spokeswoman Renee Witt said. Police say the man was near the intersection of Broadway and East Pike street when he was stabbed once in the right side of his stomach. The man walked about a block before he collapsed.

From KIRO:

Police said even though there were plenty of people out in the area at the time, they’re having a tough time finding witnesses.

Of course, I don’t even think Neighbours is open on Tuesday night.

First, I am glad to see that the Seattle PI did not try to sensationalize the report by claiming it was outside a nightclub. Shame on KIRO.

Second, this is an example of “Seattle Apathy” (or “Seinfeld Apathy”) where people witness something happening, but nobody does anything about it. Hopefully someone will read the articles and speak out, at least for the benefit of the victim.
