Purr has great turnout for Bartender Auction

May 1, 2008• bySeattle Gay Scene

The turnout for A Bartender Auction at Purr was pretty impressive. I had to keep telling myself this was a Wednesday. The Cuff, R Place, Madison Pub and Purr all contributed their very best bartenders and proceeds from the auction went to Rise n’ Shine.

Glamazonia introduces “Evan” from R Place

The music started and the Purr bartenders did an impromptu dance up on stage as members of the crowd came forward and showered them with tips for the charity. But these were not dollar bills, they were ten and twenty dollar bills.

The bartenders sold for hundreds of dollars each as host Glamazonia did a fabulous job of coaxing every possible bidder higher. Winners receive a date with the bartender including dinner for two donated by several great restaurants.

The bartenders included Rich, Erin and Steve from the Cuff. Shane, Evan and Pickle from R Place. Joey and Marcus from Madison Pub. Rock, Kevin, Brook, Rusty and Jason from Purr.

Here are some pictures of the first three auctions. The quality of the pictures is poor but you get the idea:

Hi! This is Rick North, Development Director at Rise n’ Shine. Great review by the way. I want to thank Barbie, Glam, Purr Lounge, The Cuff, R Place, Madison Pub, all of the bartenders, the Rise n’ Shine volunteers and the incredible crowd who showed up last night. What a complete blast. We were blown away with the crowd and the donations!!!! With the sticker/raffle donations, winning bids and matching funds, we raised over $11,800 last night!

Thank you one and all. It was a memorable evening. Well, what I remember anyway!?!
