Q-Squared has had a number of questions about GLITTERBOMB so they sent their resident expert, Daniel Brown, to go investigate. What do people know? What do people want to know? What do people not know that they want to know? Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. Here is what he found out:
What is GLITTERBOMB?
As the propaganda says “GLITTERBOMB! is a high-energy dance party and a massive glitter attack on the Seattle social scene,” but what does this mean? It’s not a rave or circuit party and it’s not a pop concert. It’s got a little for everyone — A great DJ will be spinning dance music broken up with live performances by the West End Boys, Soulchilde, and Miss Bebe Doll. The night will be hosted by Aleksa Manila and hot music spun by DJ LA Kendall. Those looking for more can retreat to the exclusive Sparkle Lounge where you will relax to chill sounds by DJ Bret Law. The night will include many surprises and will be an amazing evening of energy, music and community!
Who are the West End Boys? What is Soul Childe?
The West End Boys are a local Seattle Pet Shop Boys tribute band. Their 80s Electropop is the perfect compliment for this event. SoulChilde is another hot local performer which you can learn more about at: http://www.myspace.com/soulchilde.
What do I wear?
Glitter, or course. Black shows off glitter best so that would be a good choice. In fact, don’t wear anything you don’t want to be wiping glitter off of the next day. Lots of people will be covered in glitter and you know how grabby some people are at big gay events.
What is the Nightshift?
The Nightshift is a separate volunteer wing of Q-Squared. The Nightshift is to Glitterbomb as The BOYZ in the Woods are to CAMP. They plan, organize, and produce the event. Q-Squared is thrilled to have this new volunteer group as part of our community and they have poured hundreds of hours into Glitterbomb! to make it a successful event for everyone.
Why is this a fundraiser?
Q-Squared is technically an education based 501(c)3 organization, and they raise money at events like this so they can produce more community based programs like CAMP, Q-Spring, and Forums later in the year.
Will this be a dry event like CAMP?
The Capitol Hill Arts Center has a liquor license and their bar will be open for everyone 21+ to enjoy. Please plan your transportation appropriately.
Where is it located? What is CHAC?
CHAC or The Capitol Hill Arts Center is on 12th Ave just north of Pine. It’s next door to the liquor store. Glitterbomb! is in the main performance hall which is upstairs. You don’t need to go down that scary ramp. The door is on the north end of the building to the right of Crave and the Pilates studio.
Where can I get my tickets?
Tickets are only $20 online before the show. They will be $25 at the door so get yours online through Brown Paper tickets.
