Turned out that tonight was one of the biggest nights we have seen in a while in gay Seattle. While the crowd for Cuff’s Mardi Gras Party was pretty mediocre the After Party at Chapel was off the hook. I have never seen so many gay people at the Chapel in one night, ever. Brian Gorr proved to everyone in attendance why he is the #1 Gay DJ in Seattle. Unfortunately, they closed their doors at 2am when the promoter told me specifically they would be extending the party till 3am. I feel really bad about this because I had promoted the fact that the party lasted until 3am. But what can I do when they tell me 3am?
With so many gay events spread across so many clubs tonight it was amazing that Chapel could get the crowd it did but many had been at the HRC’s Bowled and the Beautiful event in West Seattle earlier in the evening. LICK! at Chop Suey, Night FantAsia, Dina Martina, NO FOOLIN’ at Wildrose…thanks for making tonight one of the biggest since the Gay Pub Crawl in early January.
Update: The bar manager at the After Party had been out sick so the bar never got the special approval from the liquor board to stay open past 2am and the promoters were not aware of it until they arrived the night of the event.
