We posted this when Dan Savage mentioned on his blog that he intended to run for mayor. Well, then the Seattle Times came out with this post criticizing him for not filing any paperwork. He just fired back with this post saying he tried to call and tell the Ethics and Elections Commission and tell them that he “intends to run for mayor” but no one was around.
Some have asked Savage to remain as the mayor if he wins and not step down and serve as the first openly gay mayor of Seattle to which he responded;
Not a chance. I’ve nominated myself and I’m running. But if elected, I will not serve.
