Over at The Stranger Slog Jonah Spangenthal-Lee reports on how gay bars on Capitol Hill continue to suffer “harassment” over posters and videos that show skin. Bars are being warned against displaying posters displaying “breasts and butt cheeks” but Keith Christiansen, manager at the Seattle Eagle, is contesting several lewd conduct citations.
“There are gunfights in other bars and they’re saying my bar [is bad] because there’s gay porn on the screen” Christiansen says. “That makes us the worst bar in Seattle?”
The WSLCB officers slapped the Eagle with two lewd conduct violations in 2008.
Christiansen has a hearing to contest the violations next month with the Liquor Control Board.
“I’ve run this bar for over 10 years and I’ve been showing hardcore porn on this screen for over six,” Christiansen says. “The police come in and see two guys kissing, and they freak out.”
