“Exotic World” is an annual international burlesque competition and convention in Las Vegas. Upwards of 10,000 performers apply each year to compete, and less than 30 are accepted. This year, two local burlesque performers from Seattle were chosen to compete: Miss Indigo Blue (headmistress of The Academy of Burlesque and well known LGBT community advocate) and The Shanghai Pearl (incredible local performer/instructor, and one of only a few Asian American burlesque performers in the country).
The “Exotic World Send-Off” show on Monday June 1, 2009 will celebrate Miss Indigo Blue and The Shanghai Pearl’s acceptance into Exotic World, and wish them well as they head off to Las Vegas for the June 6th competition. And just a little hint: Both of them will perform the acts that they will compete with at Exotic World!
Hosted by Ben De La Crème, the line-up includes strip-tease veterans Miss Indigo Blue and The Shanghai Pearl (performing their Miss Exotic World Competition acts!) and some of Seattle’s most talented and adventurous artistes will be performing, including Polly Wood, Inga Ingenue, Ravenna Black, and Hottie McNaughty.
“Exotic World Send-Off” is Monday June 1st at Re-Bar.
Doors open at 7pm, with show at 8pm.
Tickets are $15 at the door. VIP seating for $25.
